BREVARD D-STARS

Program Your Radio to Use
The Brevard County Area's First D-STAR Repeater

Using the Icom programming software makes this task much easier. If you need use the radio, this page might be helpful. Set the radio to use (future freq). Set the duplex to +5MHz. This will cause the radio to transmit on (future freq) which is the repeater's input frequency. The RF programming is finished.

Set the radio to use DV. The default is FM. Check your manual for how to get into the D-STAR setup. Once there, you will have four fields to fill in. MyCall is your amateur callsign. In my case I set it to N3EH. There is another field called Yourcall (UR or UrCALL). While you might think you should use your callsign for this field too, it really is for the callsign of the person you are calling. This causes a lot of people some grief. For general usage set the URcall field to be CQCQCQ.

The Repeater1 field should be set to:

"KJ40XT B"
I used the quotes to show the upper case B is in the eighth character position. This is a common mistake.

The Repeater2 field should be set to:

"KJ4OXT G"
